We are Ann and Robert Waters. We live in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. Robert and I have been married 36 years and have 2 grown up daughters, Amber 34, who is married to Dan and has 2 boys, Tom aged 13 and Ollie aged 11. Karly 32, is married to Jim and has Charlie 10, Louie 6 and Molly who is 2.
We have been involved with dogs all our lives.I worked as a canine beautician and kennel maid before I married and was involved in breeding and showing Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Basset Hounds and Afghans.
Together we have owned Dobermans for 25 years. when we lost our last Doberman Chloe in November 2000 at the ripe old age of almost 15 we decided we would have a quieter breed that did not require so much exercise.
Along came Albert and Aggie!
This litter brother and sister from the Slavemaker kennels were our introduction into the wonderful world of Bulldogs.
Our affix Cholto was granted to us in July 2000. Ann's previous affix 'Arkhill', that she had inherited from her parents had lapsed. Our banner was designed upon Ann's maiden name Fletcher.The central logo is the family clan badge. 'Alta Pete' is latin for ' Aim High '. That is what we aim to do in the future, produce the highest quality puppies we can, excelling in health, conformation and temperament.
Because of work commitments Albert and Aggie were never shown. They are from very good lines Iceglint/ Lynmanns, 2 of the top kennels in the country. Several years ago Rob changed his job and Ann trained as a care nurse, working a couple of nights a week at St. Michaels Hospice, which means that someone is always at home with the dogs and we now have more spare time to pursue our hobby.
Earlier this year we decided that we would add a new addition to our home. After quite a search Maisie joined us in June.
Maisie is from the Hillplace kennel of Maria and Ralph Taylor. She is younger full sister of Ch. Hillplace Iron Lady a stunning bitch who was Best Opposite sex to Bulldog of the year 2007. She has 8 cc's and 7 rcc's. You can see a picture of Mally on Maisie's page.
We are interested in the welfare, health and breeding to the standard and belong to the Incorporated, British Bulldog , Junior and South of England bulldog clubs and the London Bulldog Society. Ann is on the committee of the Hastings, St Leonards & East Sussex C.S.
I am very lucky to have a dear friend Arnelda, she is a Sister at the Hospice and also an Artist. She did this drawing of Albert and Aggie for me. I think it is incredible, she is so talented.
